Shafaq News/ The Iraqi Oil Marketing Company "SOMO" announced on Thursday that Indian and Chinese companies took the lead in purchasing Iraqi oil during the month of August.
"Sumo" said in a statistic published on its official website and seen by Shafak News Agency, "Indian and Chinese companies were the most numerous among other international companies in purchasing Iraqi oil, with 7 companies each out of 32 companies that purchased oil during the month of August. ".
Somo added, "American companies came second with (4) companies, then Greek and South Korean companies came third with (3) companies each, and Italian and Emirati companies came fourth with two companies each, while the rest were distributed among Spanish and Dutch - British companies. Turkish, Russian, and with one company each.
And "SOMO" indicated that it "relies in selling Iraqi oil on the main criteria for contracting with major international oil companies, independent and vertically integrated government," noting that "the most prominent international companies that bought Iraqi oil are the Indian Hindustan Company, the Korean Kokaz and the American ExxonMobil."
