[size=45]The source, who preferred to remain anonymous, confirmed that “more than one extensive report has been submitted about the circumstances of the theft of the century, in which some employees of the Accounts Department in the Diyala Governorate Office were involved, and which was revealed weeks ago and caused an uproar in the media,” pointing out that “there is interest in... The highest levels of the central government in order to uncover the identity of the mastermind of the theft of the century and what is the fate of the money.”[/size]

[size=45]Al-Karawi said in a statement to the “Baghdad Today” news agency, “The embezzlement of billions of dinars of compensation funds in Diyala has revealed accumulated and systematic corruption taking place in one of the most important departments of the governorate’s office, in which employees are involved,” pointing out that “the second phase of the investigation operations is being conducted by Central and sub-committees in Baquba, with the support of Baghdad, have actually begun in order to accelerate the pace of investigation and uncover more violations.”[/size]
