Oil Minister Hayan Abdul-Ghani announced, on Friday, that his ministry pays special attention to the "reputable" Basra Oil Company, while he considered it the "bread of the Iraqis."
Abdul-Ghani said in a press statement circulated by local media, that "his first visit was to the company, in which he met its management and the advanced cadre. During a meeting with them, he reviewed many activities and issued directives on enhancing work and escalating production capacity, export and attention to Basra Governorate, and coordination with the local government to implement the activities that It belongs to the Basri citizen, which is what he will work on,” noting that he will also visit the company’s websites.
He added that "the Ministry of Oil is particularly interested in the Basra Oil Company, which is a well-established company as it represents the "bread of Iraqis," stressing "attention to Basra and everything that would serve its people and improve the situation of the province."
