The Iraqi intelligence service responded, on Monday, to what it described as "misleading media campaigns", while noting that addressing the shortcomings of the security and intelligence agencies is not done through the media and social networking sites.
The agency stated in a statement that Mawazine News received a copy of, that "the Iraqi National Intelligence Service is facing misleading media campaigns led by media outlets, analysts, and bloggers on social media, targeting its leaders, officers, and affiliates, and spreading false, fabricated, fabricated, and inaccurate reports and news seeking to question its professionalism, competence, and ability to implement his constitutional duties.
He added, "At a time when the apparatus condemns these frantic campaigns, it confirms that they reveal a complex ignorance of the requirements of the national interest or submission to malicious agendas that do not want stability for Iraq and its people and are trying to mislead public opinion and discourage the apparatus from continuing the course of its giving and qualitative intelligence achievements that overthrew the first-line leaders of the groups." It thwarted many subversive and criminal plans, which made the agency a target for those affected by its effective role in protecting Iraqi national security.
And he continued, "Based on national responsibility, we find that informing public opinion of the truth about these campaigns has become an urgent necessity at the current stage, and we affirm that addressing the shortcomings or shortcomings in the security and intelligence agencies is not done through the media and social networking sites, but rather through existing administrative, legal and judicial procedures."
