A statement from the office of Prime Minister Muhammad Shia’ al-Sudani, of which Mawazine News received a copy, stated that “the latter visited the Kuwaiti National Assembly, where he was received by Speaker of the Council Ahmed Al-Saadoun,” noting that “the meeting dealt with discussing the distinguished and well-established relations that unite the two brotherly countries, and emphasizing on The importance of developing cooperation, at the parliamentary, governmental and societal levels between Iraq and Kuwait, and bilateral coordination on issues of common concern, both regional and international.
The Prime Minister stressed, according to the statement, that "the depth of the relationship between the two brotherly neighbors enhances the importance of developing their societal ties through various activities, after the two countries were able to overcome the effects of the past."
He pointed out, to "the importance of developing the relationship between the Iraqi Parliament and the Kuwaiti National Assembly, at the level of committees and increasing mutual meetings."
For his part, Speaker of the National Assembly Ahmed Al-Saadoun congratulated the Sudanese Prime Minister on the occasion of gaining the confidence of the Iraqi Parliament, and affirmed his readiness to support everything that would strengthen the relationship between the peoples of Iraq and Kuwait.
