    Today, Tuesday, the Ministry of Planning announced the inclusion of two funds for development and support for the poorest governorates in the next general budget 2023, while confirming that the development fund will implement strategic and important projects for the country.
    The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Planning, Maher Hammad Johan, said, "There is a tendency to implement the ministerial curriculum, which included the establishment of the Iraqi Development Fund, and setting an initial allocation for it with a large number, in addition to a fund directed to the poorest governorates, specifically to the southern governorates such as the governorates of Muthanna, Diwaniyah, Dhi Qar and Maysan," indicating And that "the Reconstruction Fund will continue to cover a large part of its tasks in the areas damaged by terrorist operations."
    Johan added, "The establishment of the development fund, which will be included in the budget law under the guidance of the Prime Minister, needs to be organized in a formula, whether as an internal system or a preliminary law until it is passed, and therefore it needs time, and therefore it was included as expected basic amounts and costs for the first year, with a very good amount." It will be from 1 to 2 trillion dinars, provided that it is organized according to the government’s vision in agreement with the House of Representatives when approving the budget,” noting that “the fund implements strategic and important projects for the country.”
    He pointed out that "the other fund may guarantee additional budgets for the poorest governorates," stressing that "the features of the government program are clear and include social protection and alleviation of poverty and unemployment, and thus setting part of the budget amounts for the poorest governorates so that they can be lifted out of poverty according to the physical indicator as well." Multidimensional poverty related to health, education and services.
    He stressed that "this will be reflected in direct projects for citizens, and will be organized within the budget law within a legal framework to implement the government's view for the next four years."
