    Today, Monday, the Ministry of Commerce announced measures to encourage farmers to produce strategic crops, and while it counted the quantities of wheat received from farmers, it confirmed that all of them had handed over their financial dues.
    The Director General of the General Company for Grain Trade in the ministry, Haider Nuri, said in an interview with the Iraqi News Agency and followed by "Al-Iqtisad News", that "the ministry has taken several measures to encourage farmers to provide strategic crops, including increasing support for farmers, as the amount of support increased from 530 thousand to 850 thousand dinars, in addition to handing over the farmers' dues 3 days after handing them the wheat.
    Nuri explained, "The ministry's expectations were to reach one and a half million tons of wheat, but the amount received amounted to two million and 200 thousand, and thus the ministry had a two-month quota."
    He stressed that "there is no farmer who did not receive his dues," pointing to "the importance of farmers receiving the amounts on a first-hand basis, and encouraging them to plant and increase production."
    He pointed out that "there is government support for the farmer and expectations that the current season will be good," noting that "the ministry monitors rainfall, especially in the provinces that depend on it greatly, such as Mosul, as one million tons of it are received in the event of rain, and 100 thousand tons in light of No rain."
