Baghdad / Obelisk: The leader in the coordination framework, Turki Al-Atbi, revealed, on Sunday, January 1, 2023, three points produced by the governors' evaluation lists, indicating that the results may lead to the change of four governors.
Al-Atbi said in a press statement, followed by The Obelisk, that the initial evaluation revealed 3 important points regarding the competence of the governors and the presence of suspicions of corruption and exploitation of influence, indicating that in light of our expectations that the compass of change may affect 4 of them in the next stage.
And changing the governors or working to improve their performance and remove them from partisan mantles is one of the core tasks of the government.
On the way to making a quantum leap in the work of the provincial administrations, the head of the State of Law coalition and influential leader Nuri al-Maliki met with a number of governors.
While there were rumors that al-Maliki was pressuring al-Sudani to change the conservatives, a member of the State of Law Coalition said on November 27, 2022 that al-Maliki did not direct al-Sudani to change a number of conservatives, especially those belonging to the Sadrist movement.
A member of the State of Law Coalition, Ahmed Al-Sudani, said in a statement to Al-Masalla, that the Prime Minister is the one who makes the decision to change the governors, while the head of the State of Law Coalition gave his opinion on the issue of the governors, and indicated that there is reluctance in a number of provinces and rates of catastrophic failure, and they must be replaced.
However, the writer and journalist Muhammad al-Jabri believes that the change of governors is nothing but political spices before the date of the provincial elections and to measure the pulse of the street, and a period of (3) months or (6) months will raise the temperature of the pessimistic street from the drooling of those who aspire to the position of governors in all of Iraq, and it is an attempt to move the street And keep them away from the mistakes of the government program.
And the representative of the Al-Fateh Alliance, Ahmed Al-Musawi, says that Prime Minister Muhammad Al-Sudani cannot change the corrupt governors because of the so-called political consensus, indicating that the House of Representatives must evaluate all the governorates without exception in order to remove the embarrassment from Al-Sudani.
Some governors in Iraq are accused of corruption, and the cities of Iraq have had bitter experiences with them, and some of them fled abroad, in addition to their declining administrative, leadership, and knowledge skills. Fitness and correct vocabulary, considering that if the situation continues to choose people at this level, it means that the situation remains as it is in terms of deterioration in the health, educational and service reality of the central and southern governorates.
And the engineer, Wajdi Mustafa, speaks on social media that the poor conditions are caused by the failure of some governors to provide services, in addition to the professional networks that plunder public money.
The number of governors in Iraq is 18, 3 of whom are in the Kurdistan region.
Al-Sudani had announced that he was in the process of conducting an evaluation of senior officials, including governors.
Parliament and the government may hold new elections for the provincial councils, after which the governors will be replaced.
At the beginning of this month, the leader in the coordination framework, Turki Jadaan, confirmed that the governors' performance evaluation committee had started its actual work.
The representative of the Parliamentary Services Committee, Adnan Al-Juhaishi, said that the service situation in Basra is bad and there are no strategic plans.
