announced, on Tuesday, that its staff carried out four operations to arrest cases of bribery and tampering with real estate distribution records, and the disbursement of bonus amounts in municipal departments in Baghdad, Diwaniyah, and Babel.
The department stated, in a statement received by Mawazine News, that "the Baghdad Investigation Directorate's work team was able to apprehend the official of the Violations Division in the Rusafa Center municipality in flagrante delicto in accordance with the provisions of Resolution (160 of 1983) while he was taking a bribe from one of the complainants, in exchange for not putting up barriers." concrete in front of his shop.
And she added, "The cadres of the Investigation and Judicial Control Division in the Diwaniyah Investigation Office seized (998) copies of the original real estate registration in the name of the Municipality Directorate and the seal of the Directorate's Land Distribution Committee in the Governorate Diwan - the Property Department, for the purpose of tampering with the distribution records by adding names to them," pointing out that "The properties of the Diwaniyah governorate were not members of the distribution committee consisting of the governor, the director of the Diwaniyah municipality, and the property manager therein."
And the statement continued, “And in the Babil Municipality Directorate, the work team of the Commission’s office in the province noticed irregularities in the records of allocating plots of land after it set the priorities for the allocation committees in the directorate to include (9) commercial plots located in distinct locations within the privatization records, contrary to the decision of the Council of Ministers (252 of 2017).
In a separate operation, the department confirmed that "the team revealed that the officials of the Financial Division in the Municipality of Hilla had tampered with the monthly bonuses, the extra hours record, and the bonuses of workers who were in their homes throughout the curfew period during the Corona pandemic for months (March, April, May and June 2020)", noting that "the original seizure (25) Payment document for monthly remuneration and a record of additional hours in the municipality.
