    Baghdad today-Baghdad
The causes of financial waste in Iraq vary between suspicious causes and corruption, and between "legitimate" and draining reasons, represented by the retirement of ministers and officials and their salaries, which represent astronomical and terrifying numbers, as what the minister receives in one month is equivalent to the salary of an employee for two full years.
The former ministers represent the "most lethal" segment of Iraq's budgets and draining expenses, due to their high salaries, expenses, and retirements, as it is estimated that the salaries of ministers per month, along with expenses and hospitality, exceed 35 million dinars per month.
In a previous interview, the head of the Office of Financial Supervision, Salah Nuri, revealed major violations in the retirement of senior officials, such as members of the National Assembly, the Governing Council, and the House of Representatives for previous sessions, and all former ministers, which left a financial waste of 53 billion Iraqi dinars.

In parallel, citizens and those interested in political affairs called on Prime Minister Muhammad Shia' al-Sudani to investigate the file of ambassadors in countries to find out the sons of Iraqi ministers and former officials who occupy these positions, as political parties confirm that diplomatic positions are only granted to the sons of officials.
Independent MP Nazem Al-Shibli reveals that parties and leaders of political blocs have taken over the special and higher ranks in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, indicating in an interview with "Baghdad Today", that "if you want to be an ambassador or consul or work in the diplomatic corps, the parties must nominate you by acclamation."
Al-Shibli added, in his interview with "Baghdad Today," that "the children of the source of political decision-making are the only candidates for appointments in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs," describing them as "pampered," adding, "But it is impossible to see the person of competence reaching those ranks without partisan support." .

Finally, someone is waking up to the real cause of a large part of the economic woes of Iraq,
