[rtl]Baghdad / NINA / - The Iranian Assistant Foreign Minister for Economic Diplomacy, Mahdi Safri, announced that the fifth meeting of the Joint Economic Committee between Iran and Iraq will be held in Baghdad today and will last for three days.
Safri said in a statement, according to IRNA, that following the consultations that took place with Iraqi officials within the framework of the current Iranian government's interest in holding meetings of joint economic committees with target countries, especially neighboring countries, the fifth meeting of the joint An economic committee between the Islamic Republic and Iraq will be held in Baghdad during the period from March 12 to 14, 2023.
And he indicated that this meeting will discuss important issues of cooperation in various fields, including banking, transport, transit, agriculture, investments, insurance, trade, export of technical and engineering services, energy, scientific and sports fields, and various documents will be signed in the field of consolidating bilateral cooperation.
It is noteworthy that the volume of trade exchange between Iran and Iraq reached, during the first ten months of the current Iranian year (ending on March 20, 2023), about $9 billion, the share of Iranian exports of which amounted to $8.927 billion, a growth of 23%, while the volume of imports from Iraq amounted to $146 million, with a decrease of 84% compared to the same period last year.
