    {Politics: Al-Furat News} The Prime Minister, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Muhammad Shia'a Al-Sudani, chaired yesterday evening, Monday, a meeting of the Ministerial Council for National Security, in the presence of members of the Council. The meeting discussed the latest security developments, the most important challenges, and ways to confront them.
    A statement from the Prime Minister's Office, of which {Euphrates News} received a copy, stated: "During the meeting, there was also a discussion of approving Iraq's accession to the international database at the United Nations, on lost and stolen weapons in Iraq and the world, with the aim of controlling this type of weapon."
    In another axis, the council discussed the issue of the entry of Arab and foreign fishermen into the country during the hunting season, and appropriate decisions were taken in this regard. 
    The Council listened to a detailed briefing on the visit of the Iraqi delegation, headed by Defense Minister Thabet Muhammad al-Abbasi, to Washington at the invitation of the US Secretary of Defense.
    He reviewed a review of the joint dialogue between the two countries, which dealt with bilateral security cooperation within the Strategic Framework Agreement, the shape of the future relationship between Iraq and the International Coalition to Combat Terrorism, the Iraqi delegation's emphasis on the constants related to Iraq's sovereignty, the growing capabilities of its armed forces of all kinds, and their carrying out their tasks in protecting security and stability and securing borders. country.
    In addition, the delegation presented the Iraqi point of view during the course of the dialogue regarding the absence of the need for the presence of any foreign combat forces on Iraqi soil. 
    After reviewing the course of the dialogue, the Council approved the agreement of the Iraqi delegation with the American side to form a joint supreme committee with the international coalition, to start implementing the outcomes of the joint dialogue.
    In this context, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces directed the Chief of Staff of the Army to communicate with the leadership of the International Coalition in Iraq to carry out the work of the bilateral committee.
    The Council also appreciated the efforts of the Iraqi delegation and its emphasis on the integration of Iraqi security capabilities, and the preservation of the requirements of Iraqi sovereignty in all its aspects. 
    A high-ranking Iraqi delegation visited Washington last week, headed by Defense Minister Thabet Al-Abbasi, and included the head of the Anti-Terrorism Service, Lieutenant General Abd al-Wahhab al-Saadi, Chief of Staff of the Army, Lieutenant General Abdul Amir Rashid Yarallah, Deputy Commander of Joint Operations, Lieutenant General Qais al-Muhammadawi, and senior officials. others.
    In a joint statement issued last Tuesday, the United States and Iraq affirmed their commitment to continuing bilateral military cooperation in all fields, especially combating ISIS, working to prevent the return of its activity, and training Iraqi military forces.
    The statement, which was issued after meetings that included Abbasi and US Assistant Secretary of Defense Celeste Wander, indicated that the two sides "affirmed their commitment to developing Iraq's security and defense capabilities and their intention to deepen security cooperation across a full range of issues to advance the two countries' common interest in Iraq's security and sovereignty and in the stability of the region."
    Iraq and the United States signed a strategic framework agreement in 2008, which included several axes, including regulating the presence of US forces in the country, in addition to provisions related to strengthening cooperation in the economic, cultural and political fields.
