    Today, Tuesday, the Iraqi Civil Aviation Authority announced the opening of the second runway at Baghdad International Airport.
    The Aviation Authority said in a statement, "Its President, Imad Abdul-Razzaq Al-Asadi, reviewed the most important achievements that were achieved during this period, especially the opening of the second runway of Baghdad International Airport 15-33L and some service facilities for passengers, and this came during a joint press conference with the head of the Association of Iraqi Private Banks." Wadih al-Handal, Director of Baghdad International Airport and Director of Civil Engineering.
    The head of the authority said, according to the statement, that "these achievements that have been achieved today come with the auspices and financing of the Central Bank of Iraq and the Association of Iraqi Private Banks within the Tamkeen initiative, which contributes to supporting community initiatives, which included the rehabilitation of the second runway of Baghdad International Airport and a number of service facilities at the airport and the rehabilitation of some businesses."     He added, "The return of the second runway at the airport to work came as a result of the rehabilitation and development work, under the supervision of civil engineering at the airport, and within the approved specifications."
    For his part, the head of the Association of Iraqi Private Banks, Wadih al-Handal, stated that "contributing to this achievement comes within the framework of the national duty to support Baghdad International Airport because it represents one of the most important facades of the country, which receives many arrivals, and its achievement came through concerted joint efforts with the Civil Aviation Authority."
