    Information / special.
Today, Wednesday, the Al-Fatah Alliance confirmed that the dry canal project between Iraq and Turkey will not affect the Silk Road, and that the country will play an important role in the region with the presence of the great port of Faw.
The leader of the coalition, Fadel Al-Fatlawi, said in an interview with Al-Maalouma, that "the country will play an important role in the region with the presence of the large port of Al-Faw and the current railway project."
He added, "The program of the Prime Minister, Muhammad Shia' al-Sudani, is clear regarding this strategically important project, and for Iraq to be a source of reception for many goods that go to neighboring countries and be an important location in the region."
Al-Fatlawi (a former deputy) explained that "the dry canal project and linking Iraq with Turkey is part of the Silk Road," pointing out that "the economic rush to Iraq from all countries of the world is a result of its important economic and political position."
The economist, Nabil Al-Marsoumi, had stressed, "The importance of the agreement between Iraq and Turkey lies in the initiation of building a dual track that includes a land corridor and a railway line extending from Basra to Turkey within the so-called dry channel," noting that "the project will turn Iraq into a major transport station for countries." After Turkey, shipments that arrive by sea will pass through the port of Al-Faw to Turkey and Europe.
Earlier, the Prime Minister, Muhammad Shayaa al-Sudani, confirmed that the development road project (the dry canal) is not only for Iraq and Turkey, but for the region and the world, as it connects the East with the West and is a global corridor for the transport of goods and energy.
