    Baghdad - Nas
The British "Middle East Eye" website revealed that Iraqi Foreign Minister Fouad Hussein and Central Bank Governor Ali Al-Alaq are in talks with US officials to find an appropriate mechanism to return Iranian money to Tehran after it incurred heavy losses in buying dollars from the Iraqi black market.

The site quoted, in a report affiliated with "NAS", (April 7, 2023), quoting Iraqi sources that the Iranians are angry with the Iraqi government, and the official in Tehran tells their Iraqi counterparts that they have organized their affairs with the Americans and have forgotten about us. "The Iranians say we only want our money and we don't want anything else."

According to an advisor to the newspaper, "We are currently trying to find a solution that satisfies both parties. The United States has done whatever it wants, and it must give us something in return."

Iraqi officials told the British website, "Iran wasted money by buying US dollars from the Iraqi black market by increasing 400,000 dollars per million dollars, and after stopping that, it is now pressuring the Iraqi government to pay its debts to Tehran through official channels."
