The Syrian news agency SANA reported, on Saturday, that the US forces present in Syria have removed, during the past hours, dozens of oil tankers from the island towards Iraqi territory.
The agency said, "The American occupation continues to steal and plunder Syrian wealth, as it took out in batches a convoy of 34 oil tanks loaded with stolen oil from the Syrian al-Jazeera fields through the illegal Mahmoudiya crossing, in addition to 40 other tankers covered through the illegal al-Walid crossing to Iraqi territory."
The agency pointed out that the American forces had carried out a similar operation on the eleventh of April, as they removed a convoy consisting of 77 vehicles, including 32 tanks filled with oil from the Syrian fields, in addition to 6 military armored vehicles from the Hasakah countryside through the illegal Al-Walid crossing towards its bases in Iraq.
Damascus had said earlier that Washington's continued theft of Syrian oil represents piracy and an attempt to return to colonial times, stressing that it retains its right to obtain compensation from the United States for everything it looted.
