An Iranian official announced the signing of diplomatic documents between Iran and Iraq, as well as between Iran and Syria regarding the establishment of free zones between them.
The Secretary of the Supreme Council for Free Economic Zones in Iran, Hojjatullah Abd al-Malik, said: "The Iraqis proposed three points regarding these free zones, and the Iranian president, during his recent visit to Syria, visited some areas proposed to establish joint areas between Iran and Syria. This field visit was one of the border points." The joint between Syria and Iraq represents the bridge of our connection to the Mediterranean Sea.
He pointed out that "the establishment of optimal joint areas between Iran and Syria, Iran and Iraq is in the process of studying the technical and legal aspects."
He added, "We are consulting and negotiating to create joint and similar areas with the countries of Uzbekistan, Oman and China, and other countries such as Russia, which are at the same stage. Of course, the initial draft for the establishment of joint areas between Iran and Turkey has been prepared, and in the coming weeks, in June or July, a signing will be made." Memorandum of Understanding between the authorities of the two countries.
