[size=45]A parliamentary committee announced the date for completing the vote on the Social Security and Workers’ Retirement Law, confirming that all the paragraphs that violated its provisions have been addressed.[/size]
[size=45]"The next session of Parliament tomorrow, Tuesday, will witness a full vote on the Social Security Law, after closing all loopholes in it," said the committee's deputy head, Hussein Arab, in a televised statement.[/size]
[size=45]Arab added, "The security law provided great support to the private sector, and it has many advantages, and there is no political side to the security law."[/size]
[size=45]He pointed out, "The committee did not leave any loophole unaddressed in the Social Security Law, and that the amounts will be deposited in the Security Fund, provided that they are not spent without a law, in addition to establishing a bank for the Social Security and Retirement Law."[/size]
[size=45]A member of the committee, Amir Al-Mamouri, said, “The Social Security and Retirement Law for Workers is one of the important laws that the House of Representatives seeks to complete the vote on its texts.”[/size]
[size=45]Al-Mamouri added, "The current law was enacted 50 years ago, and it is not commensurate with society, especially since those who previously deviated from this law have pension salaries worth 98,000 Iraqi dinars or 200,000."[/size]
[size=45]He pointed out that "the committee, in cooperation with the International Labor Committee and trade unions and federations, issued a law that guarantees workers' rights and activates the private sector."[/size]
[size=45]And Al-Mamouri stated, “This law will improve the pension, work injury insurance, maternity, force majeure, and health insurance.”[/size]
[size=45]He pointed out, "The retirement age begins at the age of 50 with an indefinite service equation for the years, and ends at the age of 63 with 15 years of service. All of these things are if he reaches this age and does not have sufficient retirement service."[/size]
[size=45]Al-Mamouri talked about “the possibility of the covered person paying the retirement contributions for the past years and receiving a previous retirement,” stressing that “this feature did not exist previously and will be activated during the current law.”[/size]
[size=45]He explained, “The organized and unorganized sectors will receive support from the government,” continuing that “the organized sector means companies, factories, and others, which pay 12%, while the worker pays 5%, and the government takes care of the rest, and he has retirement contributions amounting to approximately 25% of the salary.” pension.”[/size]
[size=45]As for the unorganized sector, between Al-Mamouri, that “this sector is called optional, such as shop owners, trade, professions and crafts, which did not exist previously, except on the condition of joining under the roof of a company so that it can guarantee its retirement salary.”[/size]
[size=45]And he continues, “The situation in the current law is different, as it is possible to go directly to activating the guarantee, and the government takes care of paying the pension contributions, a percentage of them, in exchange for the person himself paying a percentage of about 5%.”[/size]
[size=45]And Al-Mamouri continues, “The minimum pension for a worker in this law is not less than 350 thousand, and if it is increased to 450 thousand, the minimum pension salary will be from 450 to 350 thousand dinars.”[/size]
[size=45]And Al-Mamouri went on, that “the upper limit with the percentage of the salary that he was receiving was 80%, that is, in the event that you receive a salary of 800 thousand and you have sufficient service, it is calculated according to a specific equation equal to the public sector, and this service is selected for the public sector for the purpose of bonuses, promotion and retirement.”[/size]
[size=45]Last week, the House of Representatives started voting on a number of articles of the Social Security and Workers' Retirement Law, and decided to postpone the rest until a later time.[/size]
