[rtl]Baghdad / NINA / - The head of the Border Crossings Authority, Major General Omar Adnan Al-Waeli, chaired the authority's sixth council meeting for the year 2023, in the presence of its members. During the meeting, the terms of the international land transport agreement signed between the Government of the Republic of Iraq and the Syrian Arab Republic were reviewed, and the Council voted on the need to hold an urgent meeting between the two sides in order to address and review the experience in order to reach a final formula to overcome obstacles in implementing the terms of the agreement.
The Council stressed the need for the Ministry of Finance to launch the financial allocations achieved from the revenues of the border crossings at a rate of 50% to the governorates for the purpose of completing the campaign of reconstruction and development of the border crossings from its generated revenues.
