    Today, Thursday, the Border Ports Authority examined four files, including Gulf 25.
    A statement of the border crossings, which (Al-Oula News) received, stated that “the head of the crossings authority, Major General Omar Adnan Al-Waeli, chaired the meeting of the authority’s council in the presence of all its members,” noting that “the meeting discussed the agenda, which included many paragraphs that work to correct the reality of the work of the border crossings.” Upgrading it for the better, maintaining the upward pace of performance, and working to increase the successes achieved by all operating departments during the current year.
    He explained that Al-Waeli delivered a public speech that included a review of the most prominent decisions taken in the year 2022 and an emphasis on raising future issues in the year 2023 to complete the course correction process and develop plans and a studied platform of action in order to reach the desired goals.
    He pointed out, "The topics that were discussed included the mechanism for implementing the ministerial curriculum and emphasizing adherence to all its provisions related to the work of the border crossings and operating departments, as well as following up on the decisions of the Council of Ministers and ensuring their implementation and follow-up," explaining that "the Commission's council decided to postpone voting on the proposal of the General Company for Land Transport." Concerning the establishment of a commercial exchange square at the Zurbatiya border crossing, until a meeting is held with the Iranian side at the end of next month to resolve the issue of transferring the squares to Iraq.
    The meeting affirmed, “To provide full support to ensure the success of the Gulf Championship 25, to work to tighten control over the entry of wheels and buses, to record their details, and to emphasize inspections to prevent smuggling operations by strengthening the presence of operating departments to maintain the smooth flow of entry for the masses.”
    He noted, "The presentation of the recommendations approved by the Prime Minister regarding the Directorate of Airport Protection and Security in all its provisions, represented in strengthening the ports with 30 officers, as well as important measures related to the Aviation Authority."
    The statement pointed out, “The meeting stressed the need to instruct operating departments to intensify inspection, research and monitoring operations to prevent the entry of any prohibited materials from import to protect the local product, as well as follow up the work of the K9 detachments for drug detection to prevent the entry and exit of this scourge to and from the country, as all members of the Council were instructed By submitting studies and proposals at the beginning of next year, to be the main starting point for raising the level of performance, achieving reform and fighting corruption in all its forms.
