    {Local: Al-Furat News} Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Ahmed Al-Asadi directed today, Thursday, the need to develop practical plans that can address part of the chronic problems of the state, pointing out that the problem of unemployment is pressing on the government and all its institutions, and we are required to come up with practical and applicable recommendations.
    The minister said, while chairing a meeting of the Supreme Committee for Planning and Employing the Workforce, in the presence of agents and general managers from ministries and representatives of the Federation of Iraqi Trade Unions and Industries, at the ministry’s headquarters, that this committee is one of the most important committees in the state, given that the most important problem it faces is unemployment, especially since its numbers are constantly increasing in front of Large numbers of graduates every year, stressing the need to transform the work of the committee into practical and applicable steps.
    He pointed out that "there are problems related to the employment of manpower in investment projects, especially after adjusting the rate of employment of national labor in projects by about 75%, compared to foreign labor, according to the decision of the Council of Ministers," noting that "the Investment Authority grants investment licenses without referring to the Ministry of Labor what It caused confusion at work, directed by setting up a mechanism to achieve what the law approved, which is the need to employ the national workforce. 
    Al-Asadi stressed "overcoming red tape and bureaucracy because it constitutes the biggest obstacle to implementing projects and employing manpower," pointing out that "the Ministry of Labor went towards strengthening the lending project by amending the Small Income-Generating Projects Fund Law to start the lending ceiling from 20-50 million dinars, As there are about 400 billion dinars that can open about ten thousand projects to employ 20-30 thousand young people, while stressing the necessity of converting loans into real projects. 
    Regarding the proposal of the Ministry of Electricity regarding the exploitation of surplus human resources in the ministry, the minister directed that a request be submitted from the committee to the Council of Ministers to find a legal mechanism for the distribution of manpower, as there are ministries that have a clear shortage of staffing, which is matched by a large surplus in other ministries.
