    [size=45]On Saturday, the parliamentary “Extension” bloc revealed two parliamentary moves within the Iraqi Parliament, regarding the issues of demarcating the land and sea borders between Iraq and Kuwait.[/size]
    [size=45]The representative of the bloc, Faten Al-Qara Ghuli, said during a press conference with the participation of a number of representatives of extension: “Based on the internal system of the House of Representatives, we collected more than 30 signatures from the members of the House, and we asked the Presidency to hold a session to clarify the policy of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Transport in issues related to The issue of demarcating the land and sea borders between Iraq and Kuwait, as well as the procedures of the two ministries regarding the investment agreement between Iraq and Saudi Arabia regarding the port on the Red Sea.[/size]
    [size=45]Al-Qaraghouli added: “On July 15, we submitted a letter to the Presidency of the House of Representatives, to hold the emergency session, but since that date, until now, no approval has been obtained, and in light of that, signatures of more than 30 deputies were collected to include the issue of border demarcation in One of the upcoming sessions of the House of Representatives.[/size]
    [size=45]The Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs had denied abandoning Iraq's land and sea sovereignty and ceding lands from Basra Governorate in favor of Kuwait, stressing that this decision was issued by the UN Security Council in the nineties of the last century.[/size]
    [size=45]Local media and social media circulated news that the Iraqi-Kuwaiti negotiations on the demarcation of the border between the two countries include the waiver of lands from the Umm Qasr district in Basra Governorate in favor of Kuwait.[/size]
    [size=45]During the past few days, many deputies and officials have stated in this regard, warning against giving up parts of Iraq in favor of Kuwait, while citizens of Basra went to protest in Umm Qasr and express their rejection of this decision.[/size]
