A member of the committee, Mueen Al-Kadhimi, said in an interview with the official newspaper, followed by "NAS" on Sunday (August 20, 2023), that "the retirement age law, which was previously amended from the age of 63 to 60 years, was aimed at absorbing and attracting young energies and finding job opportunities," noting That "determining this age wasted important experiences in the medical, engineering, judicial, university professors and others, expressing his hope that an exception would be found for some important experiences that would develop the government structure and provide it with the necessary competencies and energies and not use young energies without experience."

He pointed out, "There are proposals submitted by some parliamentary committees related to amending the retirement age, but the approval of the budget law for three years currently prevents a return to such a law," noting that "the exceptions depend on the government, which assesses the extent of its need and submits its proposals to Parliament, pointing out that the employee is at the age of He has 60 years of experience and competence required in most disciplines, and it must be invested in the government sector, not left to the private sector only.”
