{Politics: Al-Furat News} The recent agreement between Baghdad and Erbil regarding securing the salaries of Kurdistan region employees prompted an announcement of intentions for a new beginning and an end to the crises.
A useful summary of important news can be found on the Al-Furat News channel on Telegram. [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
This was confirmed by the representative of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, Jayay Timur. For the program {Free Speech} broadcast by Al-Furat satellite channel this Monday evening, it said: “The Kurdistan Regional Government paid the salaries of its employees for 3 months, and its oil revenues until the month of March paid salaries to its employees, retirees, and social care,” announcing, “The number of employees, retirees, and social care is estimated at one million and 251 thousand, and it is not rumored.” Other numbers are incorrect.
He explained, "The federal government paid loans to the region during 2023, amounting to 2 trillion and 400 billion dinars. It paid salaries to employees for 6 months, and the total salaries for one month are 906 billion dinars, excluding the region's banks and oil company dues."

He pointed out, "The region's problems with Sulaymaniyah are political, not administrative, and the National Democratic Party and the Democratic Party agree regarding the region's entitlements."
Timur stated, “The salaries of employees in the Kurdistan region are distributed according to the population percentages in the governorates of the region and Sulaymaniyah, their share being 43% of the funds, and even taking their share from the investment side of the budget.”
He noted, "Two things negatively affect relations between the center and the region: the lack of a reliable population census to determine the region's dues, and the oil and gas law, which has been in the drawers of the House of Representatives since 2007."

He concluded by saying, "The Turkish government is procrastinating by not granting the Iraqi funds it has allocated, and 12.67 is the region's share, which translates to 16 trillion and 400 billion dinars."
