The launch of the National Union Conference.. Talabani: We must make the Kurdistan Region a paradise in which citizens can enjoy

Shafaq News/ Today, Wednesday, in the city of Sulaymaniyah, and under the slogan (Renewal in Action... Consensus in Decision), the work of the fifth conference of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan was launched in the city of Sulaymaniyah, in the presence of high-level political and diplomatic figures, including the President of the Kurdistan Region, Nechirvan Barzani, and the President of the Republic, Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid.
Shafaq News Agency correspondent said that the conference was launched with the participation of 600 members, and a large number of guests from the Kurdistan Region, Iraq and foreign countries, and for the first time in its history, the National Union held its conference before the end of its deadline.
Our correspondent quoted private sources as saying that it is expected that during the conference the number of members of the Leadership Council will be reduced to 51 members, including the head of the National Union, and the number of members of the Political Bureau will be reduced to 10 members. It will be proposed at the conference to form 3 councils, namely: the Supreme Council for Policies. The interests, the leadership council, and the support council.
The sources added that the President of the National Union will directly supervise the Support Council, which works to qualify new cadres of youth and women, and will also be a center for training young leaders.
The head of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, Bafel Talabani, stressed in his speech at the beginning of the fifth conference of his party, the necessity of making the region a paradise in which citizens can enjoy.
Pavel Talabani said during the opening speech, which was followed by Shafaq News Agency, that we want this conference to be together and we are like this, indicating that the exam will begin its work from now.
He added, “We have gathered to strengthen the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan in order to provide the best services to citizens,” stressing that the Union will follow the approach and philosophy of the late Jalal Talabani.
Regarding the internal and external relations of the Union, Talabani said that the National Union will begin a new phase and we must reconcile with the citizens and sacrifice for the people and the country, stressing that this prompts us to extend the hand of tolerance to all parties, and we must strengthen our relationship with them.
He stressed that we must strengthen our relationship with Baghdad and develop the strategic agreement concluded with the Shiite brothers, as well as strengthen our relationship with the Sunnis and all components.
The conference witnessed the withdrawal and boycott of prominent leaders in the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, including Mullah Bakhtiar, members of the Council of Public Interests, and the official spokesman for the Political Bureau.
