    Baghdad today - Erbil
A joint meeting between the Kurdistan Democratic Party and the Kurdistan Union was launched today, Wednesday, to discuss the region's election law.
The correspondent of (Baghdad Today) said, "This morning, a meeting started between the election institutions of the two Kurdish parties, the Kurdistan Democratic Party and the Patriotic Union, to discuss the election issue and agree on a final formula regarding the election law for the region's parliament."
Earlier yesterday, a political source revealed that the Democratic Party and the National Union will hold a meeting tomorrow, Wednesday, to discuss the upcoming parliamentary elections in the Kurdistan region.
The source told (Baghdad Today), "The Patriotic Union of Kurdistan Elections Institution and the Kurdistan Democratic Party Elections Institution will meet tomorrow, Wednesday, in the building of the political office of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan in Erbil."
According to the source, "the meeting will discuss the issues of holding the Kurdish parliamentary elections and the seats of sects and minorities."
The PUK-KDP electoral institution was scheduled to meet last week, but the meeting was postponed twice due to the illness of a member of the PUK delegation.
The two parties had held a meeting at the end of last February, confirming in a joint communiqué at the end that they had reached an understanding to hold the elections this year, and that they agreed to hold other meetings to complete the final formula for the form of the elections after overcoming some remaining contentious points in the way of agreement.
