    Information/private..
A member of the Rights Movement, Hussein Al-Karaawi, confirmed today, Friday, that the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Muhammad Al-Halbousi, worked to take into account his interests and preserve his money abroad by ignoring the Khor Abdullah issue, despite the danger facing the country that threatens to close the maritime economic port.
Al-Karaawi told Al-Maalouma, “The Speaker of Parliament expressed his silence regarding the Khor Abdullah issue, even though he is the head of the legislative authority capable of dismissing governments and making decisions that serve the country.”
He added, "The president of the country worked to take into account his interests and keep his money outside the country, through shameful silence and not discussing the Khor Abdullah file in the House of Representatives at the expense of the Iraqi interest."
He stated, "Iraq is vulnerable to the closure of its maritime borders and the economic blockade by the Kuwaiti side, in addition to the Turkish blockade from the north. Therefore, the country is exposed to the blockade, and the Speaker of Parliament did not come out with any position regarding what is happening in the country, especially the issue of the borders with Kuwait and Khor Abdullah."
Earlier, Representative Saud Al-Saadi called on the Presidency of Parliament to explain its procedures for preventing the Foreign Ministry from submitting the court’s decision that the Khor Abdullah Agreement was unconstitutional.
Many political parties warned of Kuwaiti attempts to strangle Iraq at sea by controlling the territorial waters between the two countries and depriving Iraq of its rights in these waters. Especially with the presence of future strategic economic projects that require the government to reorganize the status of the maritime borders with the Kuwaiti side.
