    First Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mohsen Al-Mandalawi, today, Monday, called on state institutions to support plans and initiatives for green belt projects for cities and to spread a sustainable culture of afforestation.

    The media office of the First Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives stated in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that “Today, Al-Mandalawi chaired the second deliberative meeting under the slogan (Urban forest projects and sustainable afforestation), which was held by the Parliamentary Research and Studies Department, in the presence of a number of heads of parliamentary committees.” Representatives, the Ministers of Water Resources and Oil, a number of governors, deputy ministers, relevant officials, the National Initiative for Energy Sustainability and Emissions Reduction team, civil society organizations, specialists and researchers.”
    He added, "During the meeting, visions were exchanged between the participating parties, a set of important proposals were presented, and recommendations were made that would enhance support for the National Initiative for Energy Sustainability and Emissions Reduction team, in addition to submitting project proposals to preserve the environmental aspect in the country."
    Al-Mandalawi said, according to the statement, “The House of Representatives supports all initiatives that advance the country and achieve the interests of citizens, and continues to support the national initiative to reduce emissions, which is moving professionally towards strengthening the environmental aspect in our country, which suffers as a result of wars and instability, an environmental situation that can He described it as dangerous.”
