Al-Taie: Political pressures prevented the purchase of weapons from Russia and China...a monopoly of America

Information / private..
Today, Saturday, the security and military expert, Aqeel Al-Taie, attributed America’s continued imposition of arms contracts on Iraq to an attempt to dominate and monopolize equipment and maintenance, while he stressed that political pressures prevent Iraq from diversifying its sources of armament.
Al-Taie said, in an interview with the Al-Ma’louma Agency, that “there is previous experience in the war against ISIS and the difficulties the army faced in terms of the lack of equipment for weapons and maintenance, especially aircraft and Brahms tanks,” noting that “Washington is using a policy to twist arms with Iraq.”
He continued, "The Iraqi army needs advanced defensive weapons, not the weapons imposed by America for which there is no actual need," pointing out that "but political pressures always make Iraq move towards contracting to purchase weapons from the United States of America."
He added, "There is Russia, China, and other developed countries in terms of weapons, but the American veto always obstructs these contracts," stressing that "Iraq needs to get out of the influence imposed by Washington with arms contracts, which are the biggest winners from contracting them."
The United States of America continues to dominate and control arms purchase contracts for Iraq amid a major loss of most of the weapons that were imported, in addition to the high price that reaches several times the price of what is available in other countries and with higher efficiency.
