    Baghdad today - Erbil
Kurdish politician Mahmoud Othman confirmed today, Friday (November 10, 2023), that internal disputes have led to the decline of the region at various levels, while noting that the Kurdish citizen pays the tax.
Othman said in a statement to "Baghdad Today", "The two Kurdish parties must reach a conviction that their unity is a point of strength for the Kurdistan region and strengthen its position."
He added, "The recent meeting of the two parties confirmed this matter, and therefore the previous disputes caused the decline of the Kurdistan region at all levels."
He pointed out that "the return of the Kurdish weight to what it was before is represented by the unity of their position in the capital, Baghdad, and thus this enhances their weight and no Iraqi party can bypass them in the next stage."
He continued: "It seems that the leaders of the two parties have reached this conviction, and that any internal dispute affects and is paid by the Kurdish citizen."
The two ruling parties in the Kurdistan Region, the Kurdistan Democratic Party and the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, held a meeting on Tuesday (November 7, 2023) to discuss resolving the differences between them, as well as a number of files.
According to Kurdish media, the Kurdistan Democratic delegation was headed by the party’s vice presidents, Nechirvan Barzani and Masrour Barzani. The delegation also included members of the administrative body of the political office, Fadel Mirani, Hoshyar Zebari, Azad Barwari, Mahmoud Muhammad, Pashtiawan Sadiq, and Jaafar Aminki, while the delegation included The National Union, Bafel Talabani, Qubad Talabani, Imad Ahmed, Saadi Berah, Rifaat Abdullah, Shalaw Ali Askari.
The last meeting between the two parties was on July 30, 2023 in Sulaymaniyah, during which the two sides discussed the legislative elections in the Kurdistan region and the general situation in the region.
