    An informed source reported today, Monday (December 4, 2023), that the coordination framework will hold a meeting to discuss the candidates of the Sunni forces to assume the position of Speaker of the Parliament.
    The source told "Baghdad Today", "The coordination framework is holding its meeting today to discuss the names presented by the Sunni forces to fill the position of Speaker of Parliament."
    The coordination framework had previously held its regular meeting in the presence of Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani, in which it discussed the names of candidates for the position of Speaker of the new House of Representatives .
    A statement of the coordination framework received by “Baghdad Today” stated that “it held its 176th periodic meeting in the presence of Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani, and during the meeting the file of local elections and the ongoing preparations for them were discussed, as well as the names nominated for the position of Speaker of the new House of Representatives, and developments in the situation were also reviewed.” politics in Iraq and the region .”
    The coordinating framework stressed, according to the statement, “the importance of preserving future entitlements, especially the electoral entitlement, and those present unanimously agreed on the necessity of resolving the issue of electing the Speaker of the House of Representatives by choosing a personality commensurate with the nature of the mission and the challenges facing the country at the current stage,” pointing out that “the coordinating framework The names of the candidates for the position of Speaker of the House of Representatives will be officially received by the Sunni component forces, and the framework will study them and take a position on them.”
    It is noteworthy that the Federal Court decided earlier to terminate the membership of Parliament Speaker Muhammad Al-Halbousi against the backdrop of a fraud case. 
    The statement published on the court’s official website stated that it “decided to terminate the membership of the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Muhammad Rekan Al-Halbousi, effective from the date of issuance of the ruling on November 14, 2023.” The court also took a similar decision against MP Laith Mustafa Hammoud Al-Dulaimi, who filed the lawsuit, according to the statement.
