Minister of Communications, Hiyam Al-Yasiri, confirmed today, Thursday, that there is a government trend to unify employee data.
The Ministry of Communications stated in a statement received by Mawazine News, that “Al-Yasiri chaired the meeting of the executive team, which includes a number of ministries and state institutions, charged with setting biometric identity standards for employees of state departments,” noting that “during the meeting, which was attended by representatives of the concerned departments, the adoption of Biometric identity standards, researching implementation mechanisms and steps, and developing a road map for that.”
Al-Yasiri indicated - according to the statement - that “the National Services Government is currently moving towards standardizing employee data and adopting the biometric data of the unified national card to be a reference for the information and data needed by state departments and institutions.”
She added, “The team’s work comes in implementation of what was stated in the Federal General Budget Law, which indicated that the Ministries of Communications, Planning and Finance and the Federal Service Council were assigned to set and implement biometric identity standards for approval in granting government identifiers such as job, retirement, and social security numbers, and to oblige all government institutions to adopt them.” With the aim of centrally intersecting information and data.”
