    Baghdad today - Baghdad
An informed source confirmed today, Sunday (January 14, 2024), that a delegation from the Independent High Electoral Commission will head to Kurdistan tomorrow to set the date for the parliamentary elections for the region.
The source said in an interview with "Baghdad Today", "A delegation from the presidency of the Board of Commissioners, the head of the electoral administration, members of the Board of Commissioners and judges, will visit Erbil tomorrow."
He added, "The purpose of the visit is to discuss with the presidency of the Kurdistan region about setting a date for holding parliamentary elections in the region," indicating that "the 16th of this month will be the meeting to determine the date of the elections."
The Election Commission had apologized to the region for its inability to hold parliamentary elections in Kurdistan on the specified date of February 25 of this year, for technical and logistical reasons related to funding, in addition to waiting for the Federal Court to decide on the shape of the electoral districts during the elections.
