    Baghdad/Al-Masala Al-Hadath: The Federal Election Commission revealed, on Wednesday, the details of the meeting of the Kurdistan Regional Government delegation, with the Chairman of the Board of Commissioners in Baghdad, to discuss preparations for holding the region’s parliament elections on February 25, 2023.
    This morning, the Chairman and members of the Board of Commissioners and the Head of the Electoral District received the delegation of the Presidency of the Kurdistan Regional Government to discuss the preparations of the Election Commission and the agenda items that were approved by the Board of Commissioners yesterday, Tuesday.
    Regarding this meeting, the Commission’s spokeswoman, Jumana Al-Ghalai, explained, “The delegation that represented the Kurdistan Region expressed full readiness to support and support the Commission in holding the Kurdistan Regional Parliament elections on February 25, 2024 in accordance with international standards.”
    Al-Ghalai added, “The meeting was very necessary, and the delegation was briefed on the Commission’s preparations, which carried out the process of updating and registering the electoral card, and the Board of Commissioners approved the counting and sorting procedures, the electoral campaign system, party agents, and observers.”
    The Commission spokeswoman indicated that “the number of voters in the Kurdistan Region has reached approximately 3 million voters, who are entitled to participate in the upcoming elections.”
    Earlier today, the head of the Kurdistan Region Council of Ministers, Omid Sabah, expressed his thanks to the Prime Minister of the Federal Government, Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani, for securing the necessary requirements to proceed with the parliamentary elections in the region, which are scheduled to be held on February 25, 2024. He also thanked the President of the region, Nechirvan Barzani, For his role in this field.
