The Parliamentary Investment Committee reported that the current year will witness a revitalization of the investment movement and a resumption of work in the majority of suspended projects after enhancing their allocations.
Committee member Muhammad Al-Zayadi explained that “the year 2024 will include the resumption of work on investment projects that were halted as a result of the entry of ISIS gangs, the rise in dollar exchange rates, and the damage to the country’s economy.”
Al-Ziyadi said, in an interview with “Al-Sabah”: “These projects will be compensated during the current year with their own sums of money to complete hospital projects, bridges, schools, infrastructure for some government institutions, and develop airports within the country’s investment plan.”
For his part, economic expert Diaa Al-Mohsen said: “The investment problem relates to the governorates that believe that financial allocations are insufficient for projects, in addition to the fact that the current government has allowed itself to make financial transfers to enhance the flexibility of implementing projects through the tripartite budget, which has helped in activating many projects.” Projects.
Al-Mohsen added, in an interview with Al-Sabah, that “talking about lower oil prices is only negative, and the positives must be highlighted as well, despite the projects being affected by lower prices, but there are indications of increasing rates of demand for oil globally, and it is possible that Prices are rising to levels above $80 per barrel.”
