[size=45]The Central Committee of the Iraqi Communist Party held its regular periodic meeting, on Thursday and Friday, February 1-2, 2024, in Baghdad. The meeting discussed the most prominent developments in the political situation, the results of the provincial council elections and our party’s participation in them, and the current developments in the region, including the continuation of the war of extermination against Gaza by the Zionist entity. The occupier, and its repercussions at the international and regional levels and on the internal situation in Iraq.[/size]
[size=45]The meeting paid special attention to evaluating the results of the recent governorate council elections and the party’s lack of representation in the governorate councils, which resulted in the dominance of the same political forces on the political scene as a result of their use of political money and buying off debts, the state agencies employing their institutions for the benefit of lists of powerful forces, the failure to implement the party law, and the role of armed groups. The sectarian discourse in electoral propaganda and other objective factors enabled it to control the provincial councils. The meeting also stopped at the subjective reasons and the work and performance of the party’s leadership bodies and the general party organizations.[/size]
[size=45]The meeting stressed that the current structural crisis facing the country can only be solved through the comprehensive change project that the party is working to achieve by forming the broadest political and popular alignment, and strengthening the multi-form mass movement to be the reliable force in getting rid of the system of sectarian political quotas and corruption. And building a democratic civil state and achieving social justice. The meeting also focused on the party’s political and electoral alliances, stressing their necessity and conducting an evaluative review of them in order to draw lessons in order to consolidate them and enhance the elements of their continuity and development.[/size]
[size=45]The meeting of the Central Committee of the Iraqi Communist Party affirmed its opposition to the quota system, corruption, uncontrolled weapons, and the neoliberal approach on which its policies in the economic field are based, which has proven its inability to address the causes of poverty and the deterioration of the economic, social, living, living and service conditions of citizens, as the vast majority of our people suffer from conditions in... [size=45]The meeting took a number of decisions that would advance the party’s work and role in political life, strengthen the party organization and its activity at the public level, adopt and defend citizens’ demands, and make the most of the lessons and comprehensive evaluation of the party’s participation in the governorate council elections in developing the work and activity of the party and its organizations at various levels.[/size]
[size=45]The meeting also followed up on the preparations to commemorate the 90th anniversary of the party’s birth and called on its organizations to hold broad activities befitting this occasion, which is dear to the hearts of the communists, their friends, and other patriots and democrats throughout Iraq.[/size]
[size=45]At the conclusion of the meeting, in a usual communist spirit, the elections of the Secretary of the Central Committee and his deputy were renewed, and the Political Bureau was elected. The party's Central Committee will issue an additional political report at a later time on the results of the meeting.[/size]
