Today, Thursday (February 15, 2024), President Abdel Latif Gamal Rasheed handed over to a number of new governors the presidential decrees regarding their appointment.
The Presidency of the Republic said in a statement received by “Baghdad Today” that “the President of the Republic, Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, received today, Thursday, at Baghdad Palace, the new governors of a number of governorates,” indicating that “during the reception, republican decrees regarding the appointment of the governors of Baghdad and Nineveh were delivered.” Anbar, Diwaniyah, Dhi Qar, Karbala, Muthanna, Maysan, Najaf, and Wasit.
The President of the Republic stressed, according to the statement, “the importance of governors rising to the reality of their governorates to achieve the aspirations of their people and meet all their needs, working to strengthen national belonging and consolidating the values of citizenship, communicating with the people, paying attention to their issues, and being keen to provide the best.”
He pointed out that “local governments embody the link in identifying citizens’ requirements and submitting them to the executive authority to put them in the form of projects and decisions that meet these requirements,” noting the need to join efforts to support the government in implementing its program, especially in the field of consolidating security stability, rehabilitating the infrastructure, and improving the level of security. livelihood for Iraqis.
Rashid stressed that “the doors of the Presidency of the Republic are open to the governors, and to support their efforts in developing their governorates, and to work together to overcome the obstacles they face by organizing periodic meetings to discuss plans prepared to improve the services provided to citizens, expressing His Excellency’s desire to visit the governorates and learn about their needs and requirements.”
“Baghdad Today” publishes the Republican Decree regarding the appointment of the governors of Wasit, Diwaniyah, Dhi Qar, Karbala, and Najaf.
