    At the parliament table
A member of the Parliamentary Security Committee, Salah Zaini, said in an interview with “Baghdad Today” that “there are many dangerous and sensitive files related to the Iraqi security file and they need to be reconsidered and investigated because of the severe damage they cause.”
He referred to the “US Military Weapons Sales Program for Iraq (FMSS),” noting that “the contract is shameful and represents a form of submission to Washington’s desires through Baghdad transferring all the money to buy weapons at a rate of 100%, and it is the one who sets the conditions and does not adhere to dates, equipment, or model, and it cannot be done.” Iraq has the right to object.” [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
    Transparent review and investigation
He indicated, "He has many documents regarding the deals of this program that he will present to the Parliamentary Security Committee and all the way to the House of Representatives," considering that "the file is one of the most serious files that requires a transparent review and investigation."
Earlier, the United States revealed that it had sold weapons to Iraq worth more than $22 billion over 12 years through the Foreign Military Sales Program of the US State Department.
A Foreign Ministry statement said, "Iraq has purchased weapons from the United States worth more than $22 billion since 2005."
He pointed out that "Iraq bought 36 F-16 aircraft, 146 tanks, 24 helicopters, and 9 C-130 air tankers."
He pointed out that in 2012, the US Congress allocated more than $2 billion, within the Foreign Military Sales Program, “to build Iraq’s logistical capabilities, achieve long-term self-sufficiency, and train Iraqi security forces in professionalism and other basic training.”
The Foreign Military Sales Program is subject to the evaluation of the US Secretary of State and through it loans are granted to specific countries, so that they can purchase the weapons they need from the United States, provided that they are repaid within 8 years.
