A member of the Parliamentary Economics Committee, Soran Omar, confirmed that the government continues to spend 618 billion dinars to finance the salaries of Kurdistan Region employees.
Omar told Mawazine News, “The federal government will continue to fund the salaries of Kurdistan Region employees at an amount of 618 billion dinars per month until the federal general budget law is amended.”
He stated that the amount of 618 "is equivalent to about half of the financial entitlements to the Kurdistan Region, and that after disbursing the salaries of employees in Iraq, the Kurdistan Region will be funded monthly with it to pay the salaries of Kurdistan Region employees after adding local revenues to the amount."
