    Shafaq News/ On Wednesday, the Kurdistan Regional Government called on the federal government to finance the salaries of employees and workers in the public sector for the last three months of the year 2023.
    The head of the Regional Council of Ministers, Omid Sabah, said in a press conference held today in Baghdad, in which he touched on the issue of salaries and the budget. He said that the Prime Minister of the Regional Government, Masrour Barzani, sent two official letters to the federal government, the first in which he asked the Prime Minister and the Council of Ministers to finance the salaries for the remaining three months. From this year to distribute it on time and to guarantee the rights of those who receive it, expressing his hope that a decision will be issued by the Council of Ministers in this regard during the upcoming sessions.
    Regarding the budget and the region’s share of it, Sabah said, About 15 days ago, we sent a letter to Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa al-Sudani in which we expressed our opinion on how to amend the budget law and isolate salaries from other items, as well as how to address the issue of oil and gas.
