    Today, Wednesday, the Presidency of the Republic responded to fabricated news regarding the seizure of a property belonging to the state.
    A statement by the Presidency of the Republic stated, “Some parties have been constantly abusing government institutions and national symbols, as some websites and channels affiliated with the media published news that the President of the Republic had seized one of the properties belonging to the state, and rented it to the Kuwaiti embassy without legal support, and that such sites are insulting to... Free and honorable media.

    The statement stated:

    1. The Council of Ministers had previously issued its Resolution No. (898) of 2011 approving the recommendations of the committee formed by Diwani Order No. (92) of 2008 containing the sale of state-owned residential homes.

    2. The Ministry of Finance announced the sale of the property by public auction with an amount of (5,564,000,000) five billion five hundred and sixty-four million dinars to Mr. (Abdul Latif Muhammad Jamal Rashid) according to the letter of the State Real Estate Department No. (18334) dated 7/24/2011, and 25% was paid. Of the total value of the property, as well as paying service fees and the remaining amount in the form of installments paid annually. The property owner also bears the costs of periodic maintenance of the property.

    3. The property was registered in the name of the Ministry of Finance, and when it was announced to be sold by public auction on 7/24/2011, Mr. (Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid) entered the bidding and the purchase was made based on the laws and regulations, and it was not registered in the name of the criminal’s wife (Abdul Hamid Hamoud Al-Takriti).

    4. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs requested to rent the above property to the Embassy of the State of Kuwait, since the area in which the property is located is secured and the security conditions were poor in other areas during that period.

    5. The process of purchasing the above property and renting it to the Kuwaiti Embassy in Baghdad took place many years before His Excellency the President of the Republic assumed office.

    6. The accusation against His Excellency the President of the Republic by a group of people and through the media has a clear goal, which is defamation and blackmail, and is motivated by certain parties to cover up malicious purposes. The search for the truth is done by verifying the correct information with the official authorities, represented by the Ministry of Finance and the Presidency. Republic.

    7. The goal of these people and those behind them is to insult His Excellency the President of the Republic, since he represents the symbol and unity of the country and represents the highest authority in the state, and that these false accusations and defamation are the result of the honorable political stances of His Excellency the President of the Republic in fighting corruption, corruptors, and the defunct dictatorial regime.

    8. The Presidency of the Republic is prepared to provide the relevant authorities with documents, official books, and receipts for all financial payments and maintenance costs that prove that what has been circulated is incorrect.

    9. Based on the above, legal measures will be taken before the courts and competent authorities against the people who carried out, and anyone proven to be involved in, this fabricated and false promotion, as they are acts criminalized by law and far from freedom of opinion, because they are accusations of the highest authority in the state.
