The representative of the Taqaddam Party, Anwar Al-Alwani, confirmed that the decisions of the First Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mohsen Al-Mandalawi, are illegal, while indicating that the Presidency clause must be cancelled.
Al-Alwani said in an interview followed by Mawazine News, “The Taqaddum bloc filed appeals to invalidate the session that was held under the chairmanship of First Representative Mohsen Al-Mandalawi, due to the accompanying legal violations of the internal regulations in the work of Parliament that accompanied the holding of the session, most notably those related to the special vote.”
He added, "Adding some paragraphs, including the paragraph of the Presidency and adjourning the session by Al-Mandalawi, is illegal and incomplete. Therefore, resort was made to the Federal Court."
He pointed out, "The lawsuit filed before the Federal Court regarding canceling Shaalan Karim's nomination was rejected for lack of jurisdiction."
He continued, "The decisions that will be issued by the special courts in the case of Shaalan Karim's membership will decide the case."
