    Today, Thursday (March 28, 2024), Member of Parliament Ali Saadoun revealed the date of the first evaluation of governors after the formation of local governments, while specifying the party responsible for the dismissal.
    Saadoun said in an interview with “Baghdad Today” that “it is not possible now to give an evaluative opinion about the performance of the governors because it is too early, especially since the period of assuming their positions did not exceed 4-6 weeks in practice, while some governorates are managed by proxy, waiting for their political differences to be resolved and a compass to be determined.” Solutions to move forward with their options.”
    He added, "Some governors have experience and others are new, so they will face problems and complications in the midst of many accumulated files," noting that "the first evaluation of their performance will take place after at least 6 months."
    He stressed that "there are three oversight frameworks surrounding the performance of the governors' work: the councils, the parliament, and the prime minister's office," noting that "the governorate council has the power set by the constitution to host and dismiss the governor if there is a failure to perform the duties entrusted to him."
    He pointed out that "the first 6 months will give a clear idea of ​​the performance of most of them and may be the beginning of determining opinions."
     On (February 25, 2024), the coordination framework confirmed that the Prime Minister follows up and monitors the work and performance of all local governments throughout the governorates .
    The representative for the framework, Salem Al-Anbaki, said in an interview with “Baghdad Al-Youm”: “Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani follows and monitors the work and performance of all local governments, and will have a special evaluation of the work of all governors after a few months have passed .  ”
    Al-Anbaki stated, “Local governments are an important and essential element for implementing the government program, especially related to services. For this reason, Al-Sudani is following the work of those governments and governors, in order to implement his government program without any obstruction or procrastination in all governorates.”
