The political researcher, Adel Al-Mana, confirmed today, Tuesday, that the results of the electoral fund are not a condition in appointing a prime minister as much as political agreement on the candidate for this position.
Al-Mana said, “Since 2005 and until now, no prime minister has received a second electoral term except in Maliki’s second term due to its special circumstance, as the results of the electoral fund are not an important condition in appointing a prime minister as much as the political consensus on the candidate for this position.”
He explained, “Ibrahim al-Jaafari won and did not obtain political consensus for the second term, so Nouri al-Maliki came instead of him, and al-Abadi was not the one with the highest votes when the prime minister’s office was appointed.”
He pointed out that “three prime ministers ruled and did not have an electoral balance, and they were all From Adel Abdul Mahdi, Mustafa Al-Kazemi, and Haider Al-Abadi, but the latter had the Dawa Party behind him.”
