    Baghdad/Al-Masala Al-Hadath: Economic analyst Ziad Al-Hashemi expressed his optimism about the possibilities of the Baghdad Metro project, which was recently announced by the Iraqi government, with its designs completed and 26 international entities and companies submitting their offers to participate in its implementation.
    The Baghdad Metro project is a huge project expected to cost $2.5 billion and extends 148 kilometers with 48 stations covering 84% of the area of ​​the capital, Baghdad.
    The Baghdad Metro project is unique in that it follows a public-private partnership model, where the winning companies will finance, design and build their part of the project, then operate it on a concession basis until ownership is later transferred to the Iraqi government.
    The Baghdad Metro project is seen as an important solution to the problem of worsening traffic congestion in the streets of Baghdad, especially with the number of vehicles steadily increasing.     The Baghdad Metro project offers attract great interest from investors, as 26 international entities and companies from various parts of the world have submitted their offers.
