The Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, Mr. Ahmed Al-Assadi, confirmed on Thursday that there is an abundance of supplies and food materials in the shelters and there is no scarcity of materials there.
Al-Assadi said in a statement, seen by Al-Iqtisad News, that “what is being circulated about a shortage of supplies in the home’s stores is “untrue and has no truth.”
He added, "There is an exponential abundance of supplies and food materials throughout the shelters."
He pointed out "the duty of his ministry to work to provide all basic needs for nursing homes, orphanages, and all residential homes."
According to the statement, Al-Asadi directed those in charge of “these homes to provide all amenities and necessary supplies, including food, to all homes, including Dar Al-Ataa in the Al-Rashad area, east of Baghdad.”
