    Baghdad today - Erbil
Kurdish politician Latif Al-Sheikh confirmed today, Tuesday (April 16, 2024), that the geographical location of the Kurdistan region places it at the heart of the storm if any conflict breaks out between Iran and Israel.
The sheikh said in an interview with “Baghdad Today” that “Kurdistan’s geographical location places it in the heart of the storm if any conflict or development breaks out between the two sides.”
The Sheikh added, "Kurdistan, its geographical location, the presence of American military bases, the headquarters of the international coalition, US interests, embassies, consulates, and foreign companies, if the conflict develops, they will be a part and vulnerable to being targeted," stressing that "the region will be affected very greatly."
He stressed that "Kurdistan must be kept away from any conflict by distancing itself and not siding with any party."
Yesterday, Monday, US administration officials expected that Tel Aviv would respond to the recent Iranian missile attack in the coming period, despite Washington’s rejection of this move.
Iran had carried out an attack with more than 300 missiles and drones, the first to target Israel from another country in more than 30 years, and raised fears of a broader regional conflict, but the attack, which Iran described as a response to an air attack that targeted its consulate in Damascus.
