    Oil affairs expert Hamza Al-Jawahiri confirmed today, Saturday (April 20, 2024), that most countries have viewed the security of the Arabian Gulf for decades as part of their national security, indicating that no matter how intense the conflicts in the Middle East region are, there is a path that unites all the great powers despite Their differences over the necessity of keeping the Gulf waters safe.
    Al-Jawahiri said in an interview with "Baghdad Today", "More than 20% of energy supplies of oil and gas are produced in the Arabian Gulf and transported through its waters through the Strait of Hormuz to dozens of countries daily, whether America, Europe, Southeast Asia, or the rest of the regions." Pointing out that "most countries have viewed the security of the Arabian Gulf for decades as part of their national security, and this explains the interest of countries in keeping its waters safe despite the intensification of conflicts and wars in the past decades."
    Al-Jawahiri added, “No matter how intense the conflicts in the Middle East region, in Iraq or Iran, and moving to the Gaza events that have been going on for nearly 6 months, there is a path that unites all the great powers despite their differences over the necessity of keeping the waters of the Gulf safe without any exposure to energy supplies,” pointing out that “America has pressure cards in Iraq, including economic and financial ones, but Baghdad remains an influential and important factor in the sustainability of Gulf security.”
    He pointed out that "Iran and America have been in an ongoing conflict for 4 decades, but it has not been recorded for once that Tehran sought to close the Strait of Hormuz and paralyze energy supplies because the matter is related to an international strategy that transcends all differences and unites in keeping those waters safe."
    Al-Jawahiri stressed that “despite the severity of the Gaza crisis and its repercussions and the conflicts it caused, it did not affect the energy markets in terms of pushing them to higher ceilings because there is pressure towards their stability through countries pumping more oil, even if unannounced,” explaining that “there is Paths that lead to keeping oil markets as stable as possible and keeping them away from any regional and international conflicts.”
    The Middle East region is witnessing complex conflicts, starting with the Gaza War, the Al-Aqsa flood, and the subsequent resistance and responses of what is known as the axis of resistance in Iraq, Syria and Yemen, the Red Sea crisis in targeting shipping ships by the Ansar Allah Houthi group, then the developments in the situation in Israel’s bombing of the Iranian consulate in Syria and the response. The Iranian bombing of targets inside Israel in what is known as Operation True Promise, the most recent of which is the explosions that struck the Iranian city of Isfahan and accusations against Israel of being behind the operation despite the lack of official confirmation of that.
