[rtl]The year 2024 was exceptional for the world's wealthy people, as the Forbes list of billionaires included 2,781 billionaires around the world. This record exceeds last year's number by 141 billionaires, and also breaks the previous record set in 2021, with an increase of 26 billionaires. The volume of wealth has increased more than ever, rising to about $14.2 trillion, an increase of $2 trillion compared to 2023, and $1.1 trillion above the record recorded in 2021.[/rtl]
[rtl]While the combined wealth of the wealthy people of the Middle East amounted to $100.9 billion, without taking into account the wealth of the wealthy people in Saudi Arabia on the Forbes global list for the seventh year in a row.[/rtl]
[rtl]The richest billionaires in each of the Arab countries mentioned on the Forbes list for the year 2024 are as follows: [/rtl]
[rtl]The founder and owner of the messaging application, Telegram , Pavel Durov, is the richest billionaire in the Middle East, with Forbes estimating his net worth at about $15.5 billion in 2024, compared to $11.5 billion in 2023.[/rtl]
[rtl]Egyptian billionaire Nassef Sawiris is still the richest Arab billionaire in the world. He ranks second on the list of the richest people in the Middle East, after Durov, with a net worth of $8.8 billion. Sawiris's wealth also increased by about $1.4 billion compared to 2023, and his 6% stake in the sportswear manufacturer Adidas is one of his largest investments. Sawiris also heads OCI, one of the largest producers of nitrogen fertilizers in the world, with factories in the American states of Texas and Iowa.[/rtl]
[rtl]The UAE has the largest number of billionaires in the region, with the highest cumulative wealth at $55.1 billion. Among them are 7 residents who hold Indian citizenship.[/rtl]
[rtl]The list includes 6 billionaires from Lebanon, whose combined net worth amounts to $11.8 billion. Among them are the luxury jewelry tycoon, Robert Moawad, and three brothers of the billionaire and former Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Hariri: Bahaa, Ayman, and Fahd, and (the current Lebanese Prime Minister) Najib Mikati and his billionaire brother, Taha Mikati.[/rtl]
[rtl]The classification also includes 5 billionaires from Egypt whose combined net worth is $18.4 billion. They are the brothers: Muhammad, Youssef, and Yassin Mansour, in addition to the two brothers, Nassef and Naguib Sawiris.[/rtl]
[rtl]Two newcomers, both Indians, have joined the 2024 list: Renuka Jagtiani, who leads the Landmark Retail Group and is the only billionaire in the Middle East, with a net worth of $4.8 billion. The founder of real estate and hospitality company FIVE Holdings is Kabir Mulchandani, with a fortune of $2 billion.[/rtl]
