Today, Monday (June 10, 2024), the President of the Supreme Judicial Council, Judge Faiq Zidan, received the International Investigation Team (UNITAD).
The media center of the Judicial Council stated, received by "Baghdad Today", that "the President of the Supreme Judicial Council, Judge Faiq Zaidan, received today, Monday, Ana Piro Bubis, the Special Advisor and Head of the International Investigation Team (UNITAD), along with members of the team."
He added, "The team leader handed over to the Chairman of the Council the comprehensive analytical report on the massacre of the Presidential Palaces Complex in Tikrit, which was committed against the volunteers who left the Tikrit Air Academy in 2014 (Speicher)."
According to the statement, Judge Zaidan praised “the team’s efforts in achieving this important achievement, which summarizes this crime as (a crime committed with genocidal intent in ISIS’s policy against the Shiites in Iraq, and this crime is considered a crime against humanity and a war crime).”
He stated that "the report submission ceremony was attended by Messrs. First Judge of the Central Investigative Court, Jabbar Abd Deli, and Investigating Judge Yasser Fantil, who is responsible for investigating this crime."
